Cargill donates pig nutrition, production software to Iowa State

Cargill is making a software contribution to Iowa State University's Department of Animal Science to aid in the university's efforts to improve swine nutrition and pork production.
The Pork MAX nutritional software will be used in ISU's applied pig nutrition program, which includes research, teaching and extension services, allowing students to model and project pig nutritional needs to improve research outcomes and aid in pork business decision making. "I am excited by the prospect of using the growth modeling capabilities of the Pork MAX software to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our research and extension activities," said Dr. John Patience of ISU's Department of Animal Science. "Being able to model various experiment options before even conducting the actual experiment will help us to use limited research dollars wisely and the most effectively."
