California State University, Fresno, has received a $7,000 student recruiting grant from the USPOULTRY Foundation.
The funding provided by USPOULTRY will help support a number of educational programs at Fresno State, according to Dr. Charles Boyer, dean of the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. “The support provides partial funding for supplies and educational materials for the FFA State judging contest including bird cages and egg candlers, as well as lab coats for the poultry inspections we do," said Boyer. "In addition, research supplies for a few student projects will be provided by the gift.”
The USPOULTRY Foundation board approved student recruiting grants totaling more than $180,000 to six U.S. universities with poultry science departments and 14 other institutions with poultry programs. The Foundation provides annual recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to their poultry programs.
