Private equity firm Blackstone Group has withdrawn
from bidding for Australia-based poultry producer Inghams Enterprises due to the
asking price being too high, according to reports.
It was announced in July that Inghams would be up for sale, with
information going out in September. Initial bids were submitted in October, with
second-round bids due at the end of November. That deadline was extended,
according to sources. The company is valued at $1.4 billion.
