International Production & Processing Expo offers a new name, much larger show

The 2013 International Production & Processing Expo — the exciting new collaboration resulting from the co-location of the International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo, and the International Meat Expo — will bring together more than 1,000 exhibitors and an anticipated 25,000 attendees from over 100 countries to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from January 29-31, 2013.
Hosted by the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the American Feed Industry Association, and the American Meat Institute, the Expo will highlight the latest technology, equipment, and services used in the production and processing of poultry, meat and feed products, with opportunities for learning and conducting all aspects of business, from farm to fork. The entire tradeshow will cover close to 400,000 net square feet of exhibit space, making it one of the 50 largest tradeshows in the United States.
The 2013 Expo will also mark the International Poultry Expo’s 65th year of continual exhibition services to the poultry industry.

2013 Expo highlights
Resuming for 2013 is the popular Members to Atlanta program, known as M2A, which waives the registration fee for attendees from member firms of all three associations engaged in the production of poultry, eggs and meat for consumption, and feed and pet food manufacturers. The program is supported through the sponsorship of elite Expo exhibitors. They include Agranco Corp. USA, Alaso, Alltech, Aviagen, Ceva, Cobb-Vantress, Diamond V, Dupont, ISI-Incubator Supply, Jamesway, Jefo, Marel Stork Poultry Processing, Kemin, Mosaic, Myuang, and Pfizer Poultry Health.
International Production & Processing Expo show organizers will be hosting a special reception Tuesday, January 29, from 4-6 p.m. on the respective floors of the show. There will be non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and musical entertainment and activities taking place during the reception.

Educational programs
The week of January 28, 2013, has been designated as “IPPE Week” and will feature dynamic education programs addressing current industry issues. The education program schedule includes the annual line-up of the International Poultry Scientific Forum, Pet Food Conference, Animal Agricultural Sustainability Summit, and American Feed Industry Association International Feed Education Program. Back by popular demand is the National Renderers Association’s International Rendering Symposium and the Poultry Market Intelligence Forum.
New for 2013 are the following educational programs: Improving Food Safety, Sanitation and Maintenance; Animal Handling: Focus on Poultry Processing; Antibiotic Conference – Current Issues for the Poultry & Egg Industry; USPOULTRY/United Egg Producers Conference on the Future of the U.S. Egg Industry; Meat and Poultry Research Conference; Processed Meats Workshop; Consumer Trends – Best New Meat and Poultry Products; Operations: Risk Management and Lifecycle Analysis; and International Regulatory Topics for Meat.

International buyer program highlighted at poultry, feed expo

The International Poultry Expo and International Feed Expo will again feature the International Buyer Program in 2011. Coordinated through the U.S. Department of Commerce, the program brings international buyers to the events to meet with U.S. companies exhibiting at the shows. Exhibitors can explore export opportunities with agency commercial specialists.
Sponsored by U.S. Poultry and Egg Association and the American Feed Industry Association, the global poultry and feed event is scheduled January 24-26, in Atlanta, Ga.

International Poultry Expo scheduled for January 26-28, 2011

U.S. Poultry & Egg Association’s Exhibitor Advisory Committee reports that the 2010 International Poultry Expo had more attendees than the 2009 event, and that even more visitors are expected at the 2011 event as the economy rebounds.
The 2011 International Poultry Expo will take place January 26-28, 2011, at the Georgia World Congress Center, Halls A and B, in Atlanta, Ga. The event will continue to co-locate with the International Feed Expo, sponsored by the American Feed Industry Association.

2010 International Poultry Expo offers 'Grower Days'

The 2010 International Poultry Expo/International Feed Expo will offer $5 on-site registration for growers. The event, sponsored by U.S. Poultry and Egg Association and the American Feed Industry Association, will be held Jan. 27–29, 2010, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The normal cost of the event for growers is $60.
The expo features equipment, products and services for all phases of poultry and feed production and processing. Registration will open each morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd., Atlanta. A completed registration form and a Grower Days coupon are required. Coupons are available from state poultry organizations and on the International Poultry Expo Web site.

IPE sessions to tackle hot-button issues

U.S. Poultry & Egg Association educational programming for the 2010 International Poultry Expo, January 27-29, in Atlanta, will focus on modern animal agriculture and other key topics for the industry.
“The general session in 2010 will take a unique look at animal agriculture under attack,” said program chairman Jay Houchin.
“For several years now, the poultry industry, along with the other segments of animal agriculture, has been under attack from animal rights activists, environmental activists, and other interest groups. This program will describe the realities of modern agriculture and how we should respond to the tactics and strategies of the activist groups,” he said.
The program, scheduled for 9–11 a.m, January 28, will feature Dr. Wes Jamison, Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida, and Blake Hurst, vice president of the Missouri Farm Bureau Federation.

Poultry forum speakers announced

Economist Donald Ratajczak will be a featured speaker at the Poultry Market Intelligence Forum, during the International Poultry Expo in 2010. He will offer insight on U.S. and global economic conditions. Sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the event is slated for Jan. 27-29, 2010, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Additional speakers include economists Mike Donohue and Paul Aho. They will examine the issues that will impact the domestic and international poultry industry in 2010.

International Poultry Expo/Feed Expo attracts over 18,000

The 2009 International Poultry Expo/Feed Expo attracted more than 18,000 industry leaders from throughout the United States and around the world last week.
Sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) and the American Feed Industry Association, it is the world’s largest poultry and feed event.The main attraction was the huge exhibit floor where 888 exhibiting companies displayed the latest equipment, supplies and services used in the production and processing of poultry, eggs and feed.
All segments of the industry were represented, from live production and processing to further processing and packaging.
“We are very pleased with this year’s Expo,” said newly elected USPOULTRY chairman Monty Henderson, George’s Inc., Springdale, Ark. “We are particularly gratified with the number of attendees and exhibitors, in light of the current economic conditions. And we saw enthusiastic participation in the education programs and other activities during the show,” he added.
In addition to the exhibits, the education programs keep industry management up to date on current issues and concerns. The Animal Agriculture Environmental Sustainability Summit focused on the challenges and solutions of environmental stewardship. One of the highlight of the summit was Bob Langert, McDonald’s Corporation, discussing his firm’s sustainability efforts in the restaurant industry.
The College Student Career Program drew almost 300 students from universities around the nation. Graduating students interview for jobs with industry and allied firms, in addition to complementing their studies by seeing the latest technology used in the modern poultry production.
