Russian poultry producer Cherkizovo Group has started construction of a new, $696 million poultry plant that will produce more than 500,000 metric tons of poultry by live weight annually, according to the company.
The plant will include a hatchery, a slaughter complex, a waste-utilization facility and a feed-producing unit. Its total annual production of poultry meat is expected to be roughly 200,000 metric tons. The plant will begin operations in 2013 and will reach its full capacity by 2015, according to Cherkizovo.
