CJ Cheil Jedang announced total revenue, with the exception of CJ Korea Express, was KRW7.3658 trillion (US$7 billion), up 2.2 percent from the previous year.
“We pushed ahead with aggressive restructuring at all the units including food business. Along with this, the recovery in the international price of lysine improved the profitability at the company level in spite of prolonged depression in domestic demand,” the company said.
The company’s operating profit in 2014 was KRW431.5 billion, up 24.5 percent from the previous year.
CJ Cheil Jedang’s biological resource department reached KRW1.6177 trillion, up 4.4 percent, with the increased sales of feed in major overseas markets including Indonesia and Vietnam. The annual sales of its food business was KRW3.8399 trillion, up 1.9 percent. The biotech unit saw revenue of KRW1.9083 trillion, up .8 percent.
