The 2015 Foster Farms Bowl, featuring teams from two of college football’s ‘Power 5’ conferences, will be played at Levi’s Stadium onDec. 26 with kickoff time at 6:15 EST. The contest will be televised live on ESPN and matches the 4th Pac-12 selection against an upper-echelon Big Ten team. Gary Cavalli, the Bowl’s Executive Director for all 14 years of the game’s existence, made the announcement.
“This is an ideal kickoff time for our game in Levi’s Stadium and for TV audiences across the nation,” Cavalli said. “Saturday at 6:15 eliminates any traffic concerns and is perfect for pregame tailgating. It’s prime time from a TV standpoint. And it’s a traditional window for the top matchups in college football.
“We played on this same date six years ago – Dec. 26, 2009 – and had a sellout crowd, an exciting game [USC 24, Boston College 13] and one of the highest-rated bowl telecasts in ESPN history. That was also Pete Carroll’s final game as a college coach.”
This year’s game at the home of the San Francisco 49ers is the second Foster Farms Bowl matching teams from the Pac-12 and Big Ten Conferences.
“The Foster Farms Bowl is about more than just great college football,” said Bryan Reese, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Foster Farms. “As the only college bowl game dedicated to fighting hunger, we are excited to once again be partnering with fans to make a difference, not only in the Bay Area where the game will be played, but across the nation where our products are sold. We invite all fans to join us for the game and to help us in this worthy cause.”
