Egg producer Sparboe Farms investigated by federal agents

Egg producer Sparboe Farms, which had a facility searched by federal homeland security agents on January 8, has released a statement saying that it complies with federal immigration laws.
The statement came hours after authorities announced that 10 people had been arrested in Litchfield, Minn., on administrative charges — a tool often used to detain possible illegal immigrants. Sparboe's statement says authorities executed search warrants, but the company has no additional information about them.
According to Sparboe spokesman Chuck Sanger, the company isn't aware of anything other than immigration issues that might be of concern. He said Sparboe follows immigration laws and no food safety concerns have been raised.
