Poultry processor Koch Foods has postponed its plan to expand its Fairfield, Ohio plant, according to local newspaper the Journal News.
The Fairfield City Council in 2012 approved a $45 million project that would include constructing a 179,000-square-foot addition to the existing 185,000-square-foot plant. The expansion could add as many as 390 jobs to the current 790 jobs at the plant over the next three years.
Chip Englert, the company's controller, said that the expansion is delayed, but that there are plans to pick up the project again, though he did not elaborate on what those plans may be, according to the paper.
