AB Vista
has delivered sales and profit growth ahead of expectations in the first half of
the fiscal year ending March 3, as well as continued its high level of
investment in differentiating services and new product development, according to
parent company Associated British Foods, ABF.
As ABF's international supplier of animal feed micro-ingredients, AB Vista launched a new phytase enzyme, Quantum Blue, helping expand ABF's performance in the industry. AB Vista also developed Econase XT, the first intrinsically thermostable xylanase product. “In the last couple of years AB Vista has taken the enzyme market to a completely new level and we are determined that we will continue to lead the industry in product development, research and supply chain efficiency,” said Richard Cooper, AB Vista's managing director.
Together, ABF’s agriculture businesses — AB Vista, Frontier, KW Trident and Premier Nutrition — saw a £90 million increase in revenue in the first half of this fiscal year, to £597 million, on the same period in the previous year. Their profits in the UK and China have also increased year on year, according to ABF’s recently published interim results report.
