Brazil’s
broiler production costs were higher in March. According to the ICPFrango/Embrapa index, which measures the costs of broiler
production in the state of Parana, the index rose to 142.01, 4.29 percent higher
than in February.
ICPFrango/Embrapa notes that this increase was due to rising input costs, particularly those of feed, due to the poor grain harvest in the south of the country. So far this year, the index has risen by 9.68 percent, primarily driven by high corn and soya prices.
