Taiwan lifts ban on Saskatchewan poultry

Saskatchewan poultry can now be exported to Taiwan for the first time since 2007. Taiwanese authorities have lifted a ban it imposed on poultry and poultry products from the Canadian province that was imposed after a strain of avian influenza was found on a Saskatchewan farm that produced hatching eggs for broiler chickens.
Saskatchewan has been recognized as being free of avian flu per World Organization for Animal Heath requirements since 2008, The Canadian Press reported.
