The H5N1 avian influenza virus has been detected on a duck farm in the German state of Brandenburg.
The flock demonstrated no clinical signs of the infection. However, on-farm monitoring detected the presence of antibodies and the results were passed to local and national authorities. The farm has been sealed off and its stock will be destroyed.
