Feed company celebrates new laboratory

Between June 13-14, 2013, CCPA Group celebrated the inauguration of a facility for its laboratory and the 20th anniversary of the location of its factory and headquarter in Janzé, France. During the two days, more than 400 people have visited the new laboratory and factory.
CCPA Group is a French international company specializing in feed additives and premixes. Founded in 1966, the company has grown ever since, with a FRA$95 million turnover in 2012. The company produces premixes, feed additives, feed specialties and provides consultation, formulation help, technological audits, nutrition support and laboratory analyses.
The laboratory, established in Janzé for 20 years, focuses on biology and physical-chemical analyses and carries out more than 43,000 analyses a year on raw materials, compound feed and premixes. With a team of engineers, veterinarians and technicians and a variety of technology, analysis equipment and ISO 17025 accreditations, the CCPA Group's laboratory provides services and consultations to customers and develops new analysis and diagnosis methods.
CCPA Group invests more than FRA$1.2 million each year in research and development. From 2006, more than 50 of CCPA Group's scientific articles have been published in international scientific reviews. The company can test nutritional solutions and evaluate their profitability in real farming conditions.
Since 2004, CCPA Group has implemented Axion, a research program on animal nutrition and health interactions. This work enabled the development a new nutrition and health approach. It consists of adapting nutrients supply depending on the farm health situation and the natural stressful events for the animals, like weaning and transportation. These stressful conditions can result in cell disorders and generate animal health issues.
CCPA Group's research suggests that animals under these conditions can use 30 percent of their nutrients to reinforce their natural defenses, instead of allocating these nutrients for growth. A targeted and adjusted diet, during these challenging stages, can prevent profitability losses. The objective is to strengthen animals' resistance, to reduce diseases, to express the animals' full potential of production and to improve feed conversion ratio.
