Agrifirm and Nuscience have acquired interest in Serbian feed companies Sto posto and Novi Mix, respectively.

Serbia's feed industry has seen two recent acquisitions: Agrifirm has acquired a 35 percent interest in Serbian compound feed company Sto posto, and Nuscience Group has acquired a 51 percent interest in Serbian premix producer Novi Mix.
With an annual volume of more than 80,000 metric tons, Sto posto is the market leader in the Serbian animal feed market. The company has an up-to-date production location in centrally located Velika Plana. With this acquisition, Agrifirm, a compound feed company active in a number of Eastern European countries for many years, strengthens its strategy, which is aimed at further profitable global growth. "The agricultural sector in Serbia, which has 3.5 million hectares of arable land and a quarter of the Dutch livestock, has enormous potential for further development," said Ton Loman, CEO of Agrifirm. "Sto posto has a modern production location and a strong network in the Serbian market. Combined with our experience in animal feeds and professional livestock farming, this will bring significant synergy benefits which will further strengthen the leading position in the Serbian market."
With the new, modern factory of Novi Mix, Nuscience Group is the only premix producer in Serbia. "This deal fits our strategic plan for the coming years," said Patrick Keereman, CEO of Nuscience Group. "Nuscience is growing globally and particularly wants to be present in interesting emerging markets. Our innovative knowledge of young animal feeds and health-stimulating feed concepts support the growth in sales of Novi Mix. The modern production facilities and the professional team of Novi Mix strengthen our position in Central Europe and the Balkan region."
