The American Egg Board (AEB) won the Golden Egg Award at the International Egg Commission's Cape Town Conference in late September.
The Golden Egg Award is given in recognition of the best promotional and marketing campaign and, for 2013, AEB's Taking Back Easter 2013 initiative won the award.
The campaign was developed to counter the drop in egg sales that traditionally occurs around Easter and resulted in a in a 3.8 percent increase in egg category sales, as compared to Easter 2012. This increase equated to 8.1 million more dozens of eggs sold and $40 million more in value sales.
