Cees Vermeeren, secretary general of a.v.e.c., the Association of Poultry Processors and Poultry Trade in the European Union, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the International Poultry Council (IPC) at the IPC's meeting in Geneva. Vermeeren, who will serve as a member-at-large representing the EU, joined a.v.e.c. in 2005 and has been active in the IPC since the organization was formed eight years ago.
Rounding out the executive committee are Robin Horel, executive director of the Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors Council, secretary-treasurer; Dr. Vivien Kite of the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, member-at-large; Jim Sumner, USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, president; Ricardo Santin, Brazilian Poultry Processors Federation, vice president; Wang Jinyou, China Chamber of Commerce for Foodstuffs and Native Produce, member-at-large; and George Watts, secretary general of the IPC.
