A fire broke out on the evening of December 1 at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Temperanceville, Va. The Tyson Foods plant fire was quickly extinguished.
The fire started in an air return unit on the roof, Tyson Foods Public Relations Manager Worth Sparkman told reporters. Damage from the blaze was contained to the unit and did not harm the roof.
Firefighters from seven fire departments responded to the Tyson Foods fire. The poultry plant fire was reported at 11:25 p.m. with flames visible from the roof.
The fire was out within an hour of when firefighters arrived to the scene. No injuries were reported, and the exact cause of the poultry plant fire is still under investigation.
