Ross Africa has completed its Ross 308 broiler hatchery in Chainda Farm, Zambia. The new facility will see the company’s production capacity increase to 500,000 broilers per week in Phase 1 of the project, and rise to 1 million per week on completion of Phase 2.
The hatchery is part of a US$17 million investment in facilities and farms to allow Ross Africa to increase supply of the Ross 308. The first successful egg set in the facility was completed in March and the complex was officially opened in April.
The Ross Africa hatchery has incorporated the first Pas Reform SmartHatchPro Vortex-based air flow system in Africa, and it is the second hatchery in the world to use the system designed to provide superior incubation and hatch conditions.
