OMP adding second shift to new poultry plant in Warren, Ark.

    OMP will add a second shift to its new poultry deboning plant in Warren, Arkansas. The change will take place in December.

    Ozark Mountain Poultry (OMP) is adding a second shift and about 100 employees to its newly-opened poultry deboning plant in Warren, Arkansas.
    The plant, which began operations on October 1, started with 124 workers. Five weeks later, the company announced its intention to add a second shift in December, bringing about the need for the company to hire about 100 new workers.
    At the time of the poultry deboning facility’s opening, OMP CEO Ed Fryar said he felt Warren was the ideal location for the company to expand its operations.
    “Warren is a wonderful community, and we’ve been able to hire great employees that will help us bring great chicken to consumers across the country,” Fryar said.
    OMP, a family-owned company that is headquartered in Rogers, Arkansas, produces premium quality antibiotic-free chicken for the restaurant industry and its products are also available at a variety of grocery retailers throughout the United States, through its consumer-based brand Forester Farmer’s Market.
    The new OMP poultry deboning facility is housed in the former H&L Poultry facility in Warren, which closed four years ago.
    Bradley County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director David King said the company became the county's fifth-largest employer with the added jobs.
