Musculoskeletal disorders among workers in the poultry industry have declined 75% during the last 25 years, according to a report recently released by the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council, a committee of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, National Chicken Council and National Turkey Federation.
The study, Ergonomics in the Poultry Industry: A Review of 25 Years of Industry Efforts, describes progress in the prevention and early treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. It also discusses results of cooperation between the industry and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
