Cargill's animal nutrition business has completed the sale of its feed manufacturing facility in Hanford, Calif., to Pitman Family Farms. The California-based Pitman Family Farms agreed to buy the land, buildings and machinery from Cargill. Terms of the agreement were not made public.
The purchase of the Hanford facility is the latest in a series of recent expansion moves made by Pitman Family Farms. The California poultry processor in June added 25,000 square feet to a chicken plant in Sanger, Calif., with building improvements totaling about $2 million.
In a press release, Cargill stated it will continue to maintain a presence by offering specialty ingredients, products and services to animal producers in the Hanford market.
