Glenrath Farms, thought to be the world's largest free-range egg producer, has been granted planning permission to build egg processing facilities at its Millennium Farms site.
Located on the Scottish Borders, UK, Glenrath will build the facilities on a 1.9-hectare site in a disused quarry, close to its current egg grading and packing facilities. The company produces some 1.4 million eggs daily and the new 80-meter-long facility will respond to local demand for pasteurized eggs.
The investment will see the company add an additional 30 employees to its current staff of 200.
