Quick service restaurant chain Del Taco has reached an agreement with Jennie-O Turkey Store, where the chain will serve seasoned ground turkey as a protein option in its menu items.
The two companies announced recently that Del Taco will offer the turkey option at all of its nearly 550 restaurants, beginning December 30. The companies stated that turkey meat offers the same flavor as beef, but offers 33 percent less fat.
Del Taco will highlight turkey best-sellers such as the Turkey Tacos, Turkey Combo Burrito, Turkey CrunchTada Tostada and the Deluxe Turkey Taco Salad, reported the West Central Tribune.
“We are excited to bring Jennie-O Turkey into our restaurants at the end of December,’’ said John Cappasola, Del Taco executive vice president and chief brand officer. “Our guests expect great-tasting food made to order with fresh ingredients, and partnering with the Jennie-O brand further demonstrates our commitment to providing high quality menu items without sacrificing flavor.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Del Taco as they expand their turkey offerings,” said Chad Randick, Jennie-O food service vice president. “We admire the company’s dedication to offering guests better-for-you options.”
Established in 1964 in Yermo, California, Del Taco currently operates in locations across the United States.
