USDA recalls 3,300 pounds of chicken shipped to NY distribution centers

New Market Poultry, based in New Market, Va., is recalling over 3,300 pounds of ice-packed, whole chicken products sent to six distribution centers in New York due to contamination concerns.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, the products may be adulterated due to leaking cooler condensate. The products had been retained by the FSIS and should not have been shipped.
The items subject to recall include approximately 60-pound boxes of "New Market Poultry 2007, LLC, EVISCERATED POULTRY, For Further Processing Only, Some Parts Missing" bearing a case code of "05412." Each box bears the shipment number "P-4602A" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced and shipped on Feb. 23, 2011.
