The 2012 forecast of total U.S. poultry production has been raised from March
numbers, according to the latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The broiler production forecast has been raised for the first half of 2012 based on production data to date and stronger forecast first-half prices. Turkey production has been forecast higher as turkey price forecasts have been raised on current strong prices, and the egg production forecast has also been raised slightly, according to the report. Egg price forecasts have been raised on stronger expected midyear prices.
The broiler export forecast has been reduced slightly from March numbers on higher prices.
