Foods has announced the creation of the BRF Institute, which will invest R$5
million (US$2.75 million) during 2012 in social projects.
The institute is working in three main areas: the voluntary sector, intersectoral networks and public policy. “All the projects and programs of the institute try to encourage the development of the various municipalities that make Brasil Foods one of the biggest food companies in the world,” said Luciana Lanzoni, director of the BRF Institute.
In addition to making financial resources available, Brasil Foods is investing in skills and knowledge training, and facilitating the voluntary participation of its employees in local projects. Currently, more than 200 Brasil Foods employees, organized into 27 committees, are working in partnership with the institute to organize social investment across 29 municipalities in nine states.
