Ukraine's egg production was profitable while its poultry production dropped
in 2011 when compared to 2010 numbers, according to the country's State
Statistics Service.
Egg revenue increased from 18.6 percent in 2010 to 37 percent, while poultry farming dropped further from a loss of 4.4 percent in 2010 to a loss of 13.4 percent in 2011, according to reports. Overall, however, Ukraine's agricultural profits were up 52.3 percent, going from 13 billion UAH (US$1.62 billion) in 2010 to 19.8 billion UAH (US$2.46 billion) in 2011. The level of profitability as a whole was 25.8 percent against 2010's 20.7 percent.
