Local leaders are optimistic that the former turkey processing plant, Midwest Meat Packing Facility, in Gibbon, Neb., will re-open under new ownership.
The turkey processing plant ceased operations around mid-November of 2012, and went into involuntary bankruptcy during the week of March 4.
“We’ve already shown it a couple of times,” Gibbon City Administrator Chris Rector told reporters from Gray Television Inc, saying they have been working with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture to help market the facility.
