UK poultry meat and egg producers are being offered new help to promote their products outside of the country. The UK’s Rural Payments Agency is encouraging trade organizations representing various agricultural sectors in the UK to apply for EU funding towards promotion and information programs for EU agricultural products.
Producers may apply for up to half the cost of marketing their goods abroad in a scheme designed to raise awareness and increase sales of EU food products.
There are two schemes running, one for marketing in other EU member states, and one for marketing outside of the EU, although both follow the same application procedure. There are two opportunities to apply each year under both schemes, and the deadline for the current tranche is April 15.
Poultry meat and eggs for human consumption qualify for intra-EU support, while quality poultry meat alone is eligible for extra-EU support.
Application forms can be found by visiting the Rural Payments Agency website.
