ForFarmers has
announced that Bert-Jan Ruumpol
is resigning as CEO, effective April 30, 2014, by mutual agreement with the
supervisory board.
Ruumpol has worked for ForFarmers and its legal predecessors since
1991. Since the start of 2003, he has been the CEO and chairman of the board of
ForFarmers. Under his leadership, the company has changed direction and expanded
from a regional cooperative to an international company.
The supervisory board will soon begin the search for a successor.
This will enable a careful choice to be made and allow Ruumpol to familiarize
the new CEO with the role, according to the company. After the end of his
employment, Ruumpol will be available as a consultant to the supervisory board
and management of ForFarmers for at least another two years.
"When I leave next year I will have worked, with great pleasure,
for ForFarmers for almost 25 years," said Ruumpol. "I will do my very best to
make 2013 another successful year for ForFarmers. I will, in addition, give my
full support to my successor to ensure a good start. After I have left
ForFarmers I will advise other companies and possibly be working with a number
of supervisory boards."
The supervisory board said it is confident the agreements made
with Ruumpol concerning his departure and his availability as a consultant will
permit ForFarmers to build on its success. "We can understand Bert-Jan Ruumpol's
decision," said Jan Markink,
chairman of the supervisory board. "We are grateful to him for what the company has achieved over the
years. Together with his team he has laid the foundations for a promising future
for ForFarmers. He has made a major contribution to the development, growth and
success of the company since he became CEO in 2003."
