Turkey and pork products company expands in Chicago

Meat products company Hof Haus is undergoing a $9.6 million expansion in Chicago. The Hof Haus expansion project will include building a new slicing and packaging operation for the family-owned business that specializes in ham, pork and turkey products.
Officials from parent company John Hofmeister and Son, along with Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, announced the expansion plans on February 3. The meat plant expansion will be supported by a $2 million loan from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Associated Press reported. An estimated 25 jobs will be created as a result of the Hof Haus growth project.
