Robert Martinez, a poultry producer and diversified farmer from DeQueen, Ark., has been appointed to serve on the Little Rock, Ark., Federal Reserve board of directors. The appointment will be for a maximum of two three-year terms.
Martinez will share with the board an overview of information about agriculture, poultry, cattle, forestry and industry in the region. Branch activities include conducting regional economic research and gathering monetary policy input from business leaders across Arkansas, sponsoring and hosting community development seminars, and providing economic education.
"It's an opportunity to represent southwest Arkansas. It's also a challenge and a duty. I will talk to farmers and ranchers and visit with industry leaders from Pilgrim's, Domtar and Husquarvana," Martinez told the Texarkana Gazette.
