Peco Foods is considering building a $120 million poultry processing plant, hatchery and truck shop near Pocahontas, Ark. An additional feed mill project near Corning, Ark., is under consideration.
The company's combined investment in its Arkansas expansion is expected to amount to $176 million, according to news sources.
The poultry plant could begin operations as soon as January 2016, with more than 300 employees. Once the plant reaches full capacity by the end of 2016, the employment numbers could reach as high as 1,000.
The feed mill, which is expected to open before the poultry processing plant does, should employ as many as 50 people.
