USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has recently confirmed that the poultry veterinary health management system of Anhui province, China, passed the official inspection of the United States and that Cargill Animal Protein (Anhui) Co. Ltd. met the export requirements of the United States. The event marked the successful entry of the poultry meat products from Anhui into American market, making Anhui the second province that has passed the U.S. official inspection after Shandong province.
To date, there are three poultry meat export companies in Anhui province, with their products mainly finding their way to the Middle East and Hong Kong. The poultry trade between China and the United States was suspended because of the outbreaks of avian influenza.
Four poultry processing companies in Shandong province were approved to export poultry meat products to the United States, according to the report released by the Food Safety and Inspection Service in 2014.
Located in Chuzhou city, Anhui, Cargill Animal Protein (Anhui) Co. Ltd., is a modern broiler processing project invested by Cargill.
However, the export is still subject to the procedures such as assessment, publication and approval of the U.S. government and a consensus has to be reached by China and the United States.
