Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) plans to build a $14.75 million feed mill in Boyden, Iowa.
The new facility, which will be in addition to FCS’s existing feed mills, will have the capacity to manufacture 3,000 tons per day, and 1,000 tons of that will be pellets.
"Boyden is the heart of FCS’s present feed territory, and this location will optimize transportation efficiencies for ingredients, as well as finished feed,” Farmers Coop Society feed manager Brad DeVries said.
DeVries said the mill will be state of the art, and will allow FCS to take advantage of new business opportunities within the industry.
